    3. Hello Chism researchers. While looking for something else in Overton County today, we tripped upon a couple of CHISM goodies that may be of some use to you. Note the different spellings. 1. Overton County Deed Book E, Joel Rice of Madison County, Alabama to James Chisam of Hardeman County, Tennessee, 500 acres land in Overton County, Tenn., adjoining Russell. 1825. 2. Overton County Deed Book N, Page 493, June 19, 1826, James Chisum of Hardiman County, Tennessee, to George Maxwell of Overton County, deeds 100 acres of land on waters of Spring Creek in Overton County, adjoining dower lands of Widow Ramsey's old place. A. 45 (f.), Jno. C. 15, Mary 12, Martha 10, Sarah 9, Julia 6, Rb-11-442 There were no other Chambliss families in Robertson County, TN, that had a daughter named Julia.     3. Hello all of you good BELL researchers. Especially you, Archie and Iris! In checking the death certificate of Mr. H. J. Bell, of Adams, Tennessee, We do not find a place of burial. The reason for this is simple. There was no space for it on the original death certificates. This was one of the many changes put on the new ones that came out in about 1914. We could not find any marriages of Bette Jo Davis.

    3. Dear Stan and Vanessa, I sure do thank you both for your efforts while in the big city to check on Maligned HEAD. Your data from the CALEB "DOC" HEAD Cemetery near Moss has me wondering now. I have a Caleb HEAD, b. 1827 who I believe is the son of Benjamin HEAD and Fanny SPEERS of Clay Co. who m. Siotha BUTLER. I also have a reference to a Caleb HEAD with a widow named Margaret who filed an application for his military pension in 1906 (App #855625) and was certified (Cert #626375 TN). This Caleb was a Pvt in Co. B, 37th KY Infantry, enlisted 1863 at Glasgow and mustered out at Louisville,KY. So, were there two Calebs around, both b. 1827 or was there just one who married twice? Can anyone help on this one? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Lea Head

    3. James Warren Stone's marriage to Mrs. Fannie P. Mitchell is recorded in Trigg Co.,KY. The marriage that I had questioned is the one that some researchers say he had prior to Fannie, a lady named Missouri ____?____ . I cannot find that marriage record, so far, in any county in TN.or in KY. The other researchers assume that this marriage existed because they are listed together in the Trigg Co.,KY 1880 Census together. Missouri was listed as being born in TN along with 2 other younger persons. Maybe this will help explain our research on the Stone's a little better. James Warren Stone was born in SC. All we have asked from other researchers is the proof of the marriage of James to Missouri and we always get a blank message. Thank you for you time and efforts in this part of our research. We hoped that TN records would give us the answer to our puzzle. We looked for the marriage of James Warren Stone and Ms. Fannie Mitchell in both Stewart County and Montgomery County, Tennessee records. Hello Lea, While at the State Archives last week, we looked for Mr. Head in the following places: Clay County Cemetery book Jackson County Cemetery book We could not find a reference to Mr. Maligned Head in either book. We did find several references to the HEAD family. There is a CALEB "DOC" HEAD Cemetery near Moss Tenn., in Clay County. This cemetery has only two graves in it, which are shown below. 1. Margaret HEAD b. Feb. 25, 1835, d. ca. 1910 2. Caleb "Doc" HEAD, b. 1827, d. Sep. 1, 1906 In the TURNER-CHERRY cemetery, about 1 mile from Moss, there is one HEAD family member buried. 1. S. M. HEAD, wife/B. F. b. Sep 3, 1866, d. Oct. 16, 1908 It is important to point out to you that Mr. Head disappeared from Jackson County after the 1870 census. Clay County was formed in 1870 from parts of Jackson and Overton counties. Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Head did not move away, but the new county of Clay formed around them, making that their home rather than Jackson County. Since Mrs. Mary Head was laid to rest in Clay County, perhaps Mr. Head is there too. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
