Good afternoon, Jan, I am sorry, but Rody and Phillip are not listed in the book "Red River Settlers." I looked in the Henderson Roll of the Cherokee in 1835 also but had no luck there, either. I also looked to see if either of them had a land grant in the area, but they did not. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. Hi Betty, How in the world are you today? I find only one reference to the WEBSTER name in the book, "Red River Settlers." It does not give a first name, and only makes reference to WEBSTER people buried in the Gideon Cemetery 12 miles out of Springfield, Tenn., in Robertson County. The surname GRUBBS is also listed, but once again, only in mentioning the surname in the Gideon Cemetery. There is no reference to the WALDEN family. There is a Gideon Methodist Church cemetery near Ridgetop/Greenbriar Tenn. in Robertson County. We have a listing of the graves in that cemetery. In the transcription of that cemetery, I find the surname GRUBBS with M. H. GRUBBS. b. 12-08-1854 d. 01-04-1934 and L. H. GRUBBS b. 01-12-1864 d. 12-01-1928. There are a few other GRUBBS graves in that cemetery. I hope this helps you a little bit. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. My gggrandfather was Abraham Webster and he married Margaret Tabytha True. Many looking for info on Abraham Webster can go no further on him than he was born in 1792 in PA. Also any mention of Franklin Lafayette Grubbs married to Matilda Webster. Also any mention of Fielden DeWitt Walden married to Susan Grubbs. It seems my ancestors went back and forth between Greenbrier, Robertson County, TN and Logan County KY. One of Abraham and Margaret Webster's sons, L. N. Hi, Stan, It is a beautiful spring-like day here! Yes, I am interested in John and William Seay and Elisha Rainey. I have some info on Randolph and have pretty much ruled him out as a direct ancestor (for now anyway). Thank you so much! Hi Rene', How are you doing on this beautiful Monday afternoon? Looking in the book "Red River Settlers," I do not see your Alexander Seay in it, but do see John Seay, and William Seay in it. Are you interested in them? Solomon, Samuel and Elijah Ramey were not listed but Randolph Ramey is listed. There is an Elisha RAINEY listed, and I wonder if that could be a misspelling of Elijah RAMEY. Are you interested in this person? Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. Hello folks! The Nashville Tennessean had an interesting article about the Nashville, Davidson County Archives in it on Sunday, February 18, 2001. Hi Carolyn, I am sorry, but there are no McFall people listed in the book, "Red River Settlers." There are, however three POWER family members listed. These have no letter "S" on the end of the name. They are S. D. POWER, S. D. POWER, Jr., and Samuel D. POWER (I think this is S. D. POWER). With the surname POWERS (with the letter "S") there is a Samuel A. POWERS with his wife, Martha A. POWERS. I believe these people lived in the part of Montgomery County that later became part of Cheatham County. There is not really a lot of information about these people, but they were closely associated with the GUPTON family. I hope this helps you, even if only a little bit. Stan, My Alsups went into Tennessee from Virginia after the Revolution. I know for a fact they were in Davison County in July of 1802 when he married Sally or Sarah Locke Robertson. By 1813 they were in Giles County where their son Moses Locke Alsup was born. They next lived in Lawrence County and by 1823 they were in Hardeman County. They spent some time in Madison county and in 1844 they were in Davison County before they went to Missouri in 1844. They were very adventurous and were right at the forefront of the Western expansion. The names Locke, Robertson, Coates, Shelton and McIntosh are names that appear regularly in the Alsup line and these families also lived in Tennessee. I am particulary interested in finding the Locke and Robertson connection to the Alsups. John C. Alsup and his wife Sally Locke Robertson Alsup both died in 1844 in Greene County Missouri. Moses Locke Alsup, their son, married Patsy Martha Grant, daughter of James Grant. She was born 3 March 1811 in East Tennessee. She and Moses Locke were married 24 Jan 1834 in Madison County Tennessee. I would like to hear from anyone with connections to these families. Pat Alsup Hardman
Y'all do so much , I hate to ask for more, but I was wondering if Alexander Seay or Solomon, Elijah, or Samuel Ramey are listed in the Red River Settlers book? Thanks! Rene' Seigh

Stan, I have been reading the messages on the Red River Settlers and wondered if you could do a lookup for me. I am looking for my husbands family the Hall's and Summers. I am looking for Rody Hall (birth and death dates unknown) I have him in Stewart County, TN in 1813. I am also looking for info on Phillip Hall (b. btw. 1775-1780 and d. btw. 1840-1850) who I think may be Rody's son. I think they came originally from Maryland and may have come through the Carolina's to get to Stewart County. Any help would be appreciated! Jan Hall
Hello Nita, Yes, there is a Henry Ayres listed in the book. Henry and Susan Ayres lived in Robertson County because Henry got a pension for service in the American Revolution of $80 per year. Henry served in the Virginia Militia from 1776 for three years, plus a previous enlistment of 12 months. Henry died April 22, 1833. Henry and Susan were wed in North Carolina in 1781 by publication of Bonds. They were married in Surry County, NC. in Jan. 1781. Susan declared her age to be 81 years old on August 7, 1843. Susan and Henry were known to have lived in or around Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1785. Henry applied for his pension when he was 79 years old. This was August 14, 1832. Henry lived in Bedford Co. VA, when he enlisted in the army. Henry and Susan were assumed to be Methodists. The above is the highlights of what is shown about Henry and Susan Ayres. We hope you can glean some new information from this. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
