    1. [ROOTWALKER] EDWARDS and LOVELACE surnames in "Red River Settlers."
    2. Howdy Dot! You should know by now that we are DELIGHTED to help you! There are two references to William EDWARDS in the book, "Red River Settlers." In the first reference, William is identified as a Revolutionary War soldier living in Robertson County, Tenn., when he filed an application for pension on August 12, 1837. These papers are on file in the National Archives, Revolutionary Pension Division, file R-3263, William entered the army in Chatham County, NC. William married a lady named Rebecca Brewer. The marriage was on July 25, 1777, in Chatham Co., NC. They had three children but no names are given. The three children were born during the American Revolution. William was 77 years old when he applied for pension. John Edwards of Simpson Co., Ky, is the brother of William. There is no reference to Larkin EDWARDS. There are no references to any of the LOVELACE family. In the second reference to William EDWARDS, is a list of Revolutionary War veterans who drew pensions. William is identified on the list of 1832 at 82 years old. He served with the Virginia Line in the American Revolution. We hope this is some new and exciting information for you. 2. Hi Debbi, If you will access the ROOTWALKER web site (keep trying, Rootsweb may be having a tiny bit of trouble today, but I tried several times and finally got it), then go to the links. Things are a little slow working today on the internet. It may take a minute or so for anything to load, so be patient. When you go to the ROOTWALKER links page, scroll down to "Cherokee by Blood" and you may find your answers there. If not, let me know and we'll work together to get you pointed in the direction you want to go. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. 1. Re: [ROOTWALKER] A Question About the Obits
    2. Raymond Millman
    3. Leslie, The obits for last year are on the Tennessean site. I tried to figure out how to access them for all of last year and couldn't get it to work. Since I didn't have any names to search I gave up as I had other things to do that day.. The site does have an obit search engine. Try typing in your name that you think was from last year. You also might be able to get each month's obit by typing in January 2000, etc. and searching each month one by one. Jeanne also try a search on rootsweb by typing in the first and last name in their search engine, I found some obits for last year that way.

    2. Hi, I am wondering if there is any mention in the "Red River Settlers" of either Wm. Edwards, Vachel Lovelace, Elizabeth Lovelace or Larkin Edwards. I would be most grateful if you have the time and don't mind checking for me. I know around the end of the 1700's and early 1800's they lived in Robertson Co, TN. Larkin is the son of Wm. Edwards and Elizabeth is the daughter of Vachel Lovelace. I am a direct descendent of Larkin and Elizabeth and have been looking for years for a record of their marriage. My ancestor, Emily Jane Edwards was born in 1808 in TN, I do not believe she was the oldest child in the family. Larkin and Elizabeth separated (or divorced in 1815) and Elizabeth died in 1820. 2. Hi Debbi, I looked in the Henderson Roll of the Cherokee, 1835, for Tyree and Thomas HARRIS, but did not find them in that roll. I also looked in the following rolls: Emigration Roll of 1917, The Reservation Roll of 1817, The Mullay Roll of 1848. In the Siler Roll of 1851, there is a Thomas Harris, #1750, but I have no reference to where he lived. 2. Hi Rene', How are you doing on this beautiful Monday afternoon? Looking in the book "Red River Settlers," I do not see your Alexander Seay in it, but do see John Seay, and William Seay in it. Are you interested in them? Solomon, Samuel and Elijah Ramey were not listed but Randolph Ramey is listed. There is an Elisha RAINEY listed, and I wonder if that could be a misspelling of Elijah RAMEY. Are you interested in this person? Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
