    2. Hi Stan, Thank you so much for looking up Wm. Edwards. My Wm. Edwards is the second one you mentioned. His wife was Ann Walton and they were from Louisa Co., VA. Their children were: Wm. S., John, Gravit, Larkin, Amelia, Anna, and Meredith Walton. I believe all the children were born in VA. Again, I appreciate your help and all the time you are giving to so many of us who had kin from that part of the country. Thanks, Dot P.

    3. Thank you Stan so much for the information I do not know if this is my LEE or not I will keep it for research. I appreciate your hard work for all of us. Jody -----Original Message----- From: Yelowstone@aol.com <Yelowstone@aol.com> To: TN-ROOTWALKER-L@rootsweb.com <TN-ROOTWALKER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, February 21, 2001 1:21 AM Subject: [ROOTWALKER] LEE family shown in "Red River Settlers." Hi Jody, The book, "Red River Settlers," is basically a collection of records of people who lived in the Red River drainage and nearby areas. The Red River crosses Sumner, Robertson, and northern Montgomery County, mostly, but crosses over into Kentucky for a short time. I don't see any reference to James Robert Lee, but there is a James Lee referred to in a list of Land Grants issued by North Carolina. This James received 128 acres on Sycamore Creek in Davidson County, TN. I believe this is now in Cheatham County. The original land grant, # 2514, was issued to John Cockran on Dec. 8, 1795, but was assigned to James Lee in warrant #792. There is no reference to Benjamin S. Lee. Say, don't forget that the ROOTWALKER area covers Smith County, too. There are a number of Smith County researchers with us at this time. We hope this information from the Red River book helps you in your research. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
