    1. [ROOTWALKER] Oscar Johnson
    2. Raymond Millman
    3. Hi, List Does any one know if the Oscar D JOHNSON who enumerated the Montgomery Co census in 1910 and 1920 is the same Oscar Johnson that was Deputy sheriff in 1920-1926? I believe this would be the Oscar D JOHNSON, husband of Olive (Ollie) JOHNSON. Just curious if any body can ask their relatives that lived around there for a long time, if this is all the same Oscar Johnson. They had a son Oscar D ,Jr. that went to school with my aunts and uncles. (also other Johnson kids.) Jeanne

    3. Macon, Lafayette or Galen Ridge area. They moved back and forth between Tennessee and Kentucky, but Samuel married A.M. Janie Roark in Macon County. Joseph and family disappeared from Allen Co. Kentucky between 1870 and 1880, so I'm thinking the family must have moved to Tennessee in that time. I have this from the 1870 Allen Co Census: 1870 Allen Co. Kentucky Census 205-205 CARTER, Joseph T. 34 farmer KY, Synthia A. 32 KY, Olly S. 6 KY, John A. 5 KY, Samuel 4 KY. They went on to have 3 additional living children. They are buried in Monroe County, though. (Akersville Cem.) I do not have a good idea of the placement of the areas. I know the 3 counties adjoin, but breaking it down between Fountain Run in Allen Co., Galen in Macon Co. and Akersville cem. I don't know how many miles they covered. Thanks so much. 3. Hi Teresa, Haven't talked to you in awhile. I'm still hard at work on Coakleys. I need to know what book in White Co had Monroe as son of James. You told me this awhile back but not what book it was in. The monroe Coakley m. Maggie Hunt I'm working on was b. in 1867 (memory quote of date may be wrong) so it maybe a different man than who you saw in book. Who is this Frank Coakley? When was he born? My mind is rusty on Coakley names right now. Fannie Cokely m.John baggett He was b. 1869. 1. [ROOTWALKER] Ollie,Mahala,Clytie,Elzo...
    2. One of the benefits of doing genealogy research is to see the first names of ancestors that are the same as some of the "strange" names that I have known in my family over the years. I used to think that my relatives had the funniest names, like Ollie Frances, Cleta, Mahala Alzora, Clytie Arjane, etc. and for the men, names like Almond Ancel, Rawdon, Elzo, Ethar, and Blithey. I am beginning to realize that those names were not so odd after all...other people actually chose those names too. I also have found many names that were much "funnier" than those in my family! I have also come to realize that the "odd" names are a blessing, not a curse, in doing genealogy research. Thank God for those funny names! R. Rice OWENS, CALDWELL, WETHERINGTON, GOLDEN, NELSON, CHASTAIN BINKLEY, EUBANKS, BELLAMY, HENSON, CLINE
