I am looking for exact birth and death dates for Polly NORROD PADGETT. She and her husband, William PADGETT, lived in OVERTON County, Tennessee. They had a daughter, Deliah Ann PADGETT who was born about 1880. They also had a son, Marion Wesley PADGETT, who gave his date of birth as May 12, 1882. Polly died either during or shortly after the birth of her son in 1882. She was about 21 years old when she died. Polly may also be Mary NORROD, also born around 1861. Polly and Mary were the daughters of Alexander NORROD and Manerva PHILLIPS. Other childern were William M. Norrod, Lewis Norrod, Benjamin Norrod, Elizabeth Norrod, Jane Norrod, Rebecca Norrod, Christopher Columbus Norrod, Marilda Norrod, Perry L. Norrod, James L. Good morning Ann, Someone else was asking which cemetery was in the Forest Retreat area of Sumner County. I was telling them it was the Gibson Cemetery. I know there is another cemetery on down the road from the Gibson, but have not yet visited it. Thanks for your offer of assistance, and thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. You certainly don't need to apologize to us! We are just thankful for all your hard work. Please tell Vanessa that we wish her a speedy recovery. Forget about other people for a while and think of herself. All her work is appreciated but have her take a rest and enjoy life. Park Rd. and Palestine Rd./ William Watkins Rd Does anyone know the history of William Watkins Road? In 1816, my ggg-grandfather Robert Watkins administered the estate of James Watkins in Sumner County. In the process of settling the estate, Robert and his brothers and sisters sold James Watkins' Sumner County property. One of those brothers was Benjamin Watkins of Overton County. Any connection to the William of William Watkins Road? Joyce
Hello Pat, If you go to the ROOTWALKER web site at: www.rootwalker.com look on that first page and see "Rootwalker Counties." Click on that hyperlink and a map will come up of the entire state of Tennessee with the 26 counties of Northern Middle Tennessee highlighted. This is the ROOTWALKER region. At the bottom of that page is a list of the counties and the corresponding numbers from the individual counties on the map. If this doesn't answer your question, just let me know! Hello Gether, Ward was an old community in the northern part of Overton County. It's location is north of the eastern part of Standing Stone State Park at the junction of Overton Co. Park Rd. and Palestine Rd./ William Watkins Rd. All of these come together in a very short distance. If you look at a map showing Standing Stone SP, look to the north and see a part of Dale Hollow Lake jutting into Overton County. Ward was just about half way between the two. I don't know anything about the history. Perhaps someone else can help you with that. Thanks for the questions, and thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
