    1. [ROOTWALKER] John William BLOODWORTH
    2. Hi Joyce, I realize this may seem like a long shot, and probably is, but have you looked in Davidson County. With the close proximity of Hendersonville to the county line, I am wondering if Mr. BLOODWORTH could have made a will and had it filed in that county. Also, I seem to recall some BLOODWORTH people in the Nashville area. The one I recall was a photographer in Madison or Goodlettsville. I think he is still in business today. One more question comes to mind. Since Mr. BLOODWORTH was the only Hendersonville man to perish in the "Great War," would the county or city historians be able to help you? By the way, if John attended Church, do you know where he went? There may be some information in the Church records about him. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. I think some WW II overseas cemeteries have been posted on the Internet. Perhaps that is a route to take. But I do know he isn't listed in the Sumner Co. Cemetery Book, and limited research in Robertson Co., hasn't turned up anything. Nor is he at Spring Hill in Nashville. There are two family cemeteries, but neither contains a monument. If he wrote a will, he didn't file it in Sumner Co. where he lived when inducted. In my research of this family, I've ordered every document bearing the Bloodworth name from the Sumner County Archives, and there's no will. The reason this is so important to me is because John William Bloodworth was the only man from Hendersonville killed in WW I, and he was my mother's first cousin. My brother, Arthur Eugene Stark, was one of four from there killed in WW II. Joyce

    1. [ROOTWALKER] Organization and Query
    2. I also use the binder method. I like having the copy of something to look at. I have labels on the back of each one telling the content of the stuff inside and have one "bible" for each line that is for reference and ease. In it I have family group sheets, area maps, lists of where marriages, censuses and things. I find that having the information all in one book--divided by type--saves me from hunting for the actual record. Now my query: I have been searching in TN for my 3 great grandparents Noah and Hannah HICKS KELLEY and have found no TN census or tax list records at all for them. They were married in 1806 in Wilson Co. (I have a copy of record) and according to IL censuses 1840 onward, all of their at least 6 children were born in TN. It was suggested yesterday that possibly they are living with Hannah's family (Richard Hicks). The could also have been staying with a Kelley relative, but I have no idea of whom (no names or relations that I know of yet). I had not thought about the earlier censuses listing by name only the head of the household, and grouping the rest by age. Hannah and Noah were both born ca. 1785 and were married in 1806. Children were born ca. 1809, 1812, 1814, 1819, 1821, and 1823. (The six I know of) suggestions? comments? Pat in WA State

    1. [ROOTWALKER] John William BLOODWORTH
    2. Hello Joyce, I have been thinking about your email to the ROOTWALKER family and trying to figure a way to help you. Since the obit was removed from the newspaper, that idea is out. The chances of the remains being sent home in WW1 are very slim, but have you wondered if a tombstone was erected in his honor in the family cemetery plot? We have seen this several times when men were lost in war. I also suggest you check to see if Mr. BLOODWORTH left a will when he went in the service. I made out one, and most of my buddies did, too, just in case we weren't as lucky and tough as we hoped we were. I don't know if leaving a will was the practice in WW1 or not, but it is worth checking. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
