    1. Re: [ROOTWALKER] SURNAMES: East and Lee

    3. Hello Stan, No, I don't have a death certificate for Sina East Roark. I do have a copy of her death and burial record from Alexander Funeral Home. It says in part: Name: Mrs. Sina Roark, widow Place of Death: District 9, Macon County, TN Date of Birth: 18 Feb 1849 Date of Death: 2 Feb 1934 Birth Place: Macon County, TN Name of Father: MADISON EAST Birth Place of Father: Macon County, TN Maiden name of Mother: MARY LEE Birth Place of Mother: Macon County, TN Cause of Death: Flu Date of Service: 3 Feb 1934 Place: Galen B. C. (Baptist Church), Macon County, TN Name of Cemetery: Roark B. G. (Burying Ground) This records says Sina's mother "Mary Lee" was born in Macon County, but the Macon census record of 1850 says Mary was born in Kentucky. I've been told that Mary's parents were Joseph Lee and Mary Siddens Lee of Monroe County, KY, but I have no record of that. This record also says that Sina was buried at Roark B. G.--perhaps "Burying Ground". But, the Allen County, KY cemetery records list the name of the cemetery where Sina and husband Asa W. Roark are buried as "Stinson Roark Cemetery". The Roark Mail List at Rootsweb is a great list--especially the archives. . These are my husband Charles' folks. Possible EDEN spellings in 1880 book: (not bad ! only 4 ways listed for surname) EDDENS, Saml 38 (B) Li-92 EDDINS 20+ listings EDEN , John 14 Macon-63 , Wm 16 M-63 They are 2 separate entries (probably farm hands?) 1. [ROOTWALKER] List coordinator message, please read.
    2. Hello everyone. It's springtime. This means vacation time is coming soon for many of you. Some people choose to unsubscribe from mail lists when they go on vacation. This prevents their mail boxes from filling up and also prevents them from the task of going through multitudes of emails when they get back from their adventures. I would like to point out that you cannot send an unsubscribe command to this mail list or any other Rootsweb mail list and have the command work. If the person handling the mail list misses the post, you are stuck. You won't get unsubscribed. Here is how to unsubscribe. Send an email to the following address: TN-ROOTWALKER-L-request@rootsweb.com (If you are in the List mode, which means you get every single email as it is posted) Or... TN-ROOTWALKER-D-request@rootsweb.com (If you are in the Digest mode, which sends a mail to you one time per day, or more if the mail load is heavy. This mail consolidates several messages into one mail.) In the email you send to the above address that applies to you, put the single word Unsubscribe in the body of the email. Don't put any other information in this email, just that single word. The computer will recognize that single word as a command and automatically unsubscribe you. Then, when you get back from Tahiti or wherever you go, simply reverse the process by sending an email to the same address with the single word Subscribe in the body of the email. We all hope you enjoy your vacations and then hurry back to the ROOTWALKER family when you return. We will miss you while you are gone and will certainly leave a light on for you. Thanks, Stan Magnesen ROOTWALKER site/list coordinator
