    3. Hi Kymm The Montgomery Co TNGen web page has some CHERRY obits. posted, maybe there will be a clue about where other CHERRYs were at the time. An obit for my grandma's cousin on that web page gave me a clue I needed. Jeanne

    1. Re: [ROOTWALKER] Some more about my Carney's
    2. They were in Stewart County. She is buried in the Heflin Cemetery. She was the oldest child of John A. Glasgow. Her mother apparently died young (possibly in childbirth) and he then married Bety Griffin.

    1. Re: [ROOTWALKER] New Members...CHERRY family?
    2. Sorry Stan I do not know where they were from....I believe most are from Clay County due to the fact that their mother was born and died there. 9 of the names I sent are the children of Lawrence H. and Nora Alice SPEAR CHERRY. Some of them could still be living?? Nora died in 1963. The other CHERRY was Versa CHERRY who married Dewey BIRDWELL from Clay County. Sorry I can't help more, I haven't done much on these lines.. 1. [ROOTWALKER] FREEMAN in Williamson Co
    2. I listed our direct ancestor surnames recently in my introduction and failed to include my husband's mother's family. I have done the least research on them, so I have very little data to share. But this list could very well be the source of a "cousin". Ned E. Gandy FREEMAN b1884 in AL Dora Belle STRICKLIN b1889 in AL They married in AL and lived in middle TN for several decades. Their 9 children, as adults, settled sort of up and down a line between Nashville and Walker Co. AL. My husband's mother settled in Williamson Co. after marrying Virgil Thomas DEAL. Do you have these FREEMAN family members in your database? If so I'd love to hear from you. Thanks Ida Deal

    1. [ROOTWALKER] Jackson, Overton, Putnam and White Co. Researchers.
    2. Good morning folks! We now have a copy of the Jackson County Ranger Book (1817-1860). Since parts of Overton, Putnam and White Counties were taken from lands that were once Jackson, this book may have important information for you about the location of people's homeplaces in days gone by. This book is a record of stray animals, who found them, and where the finder lived at a particular time. The value of the animal is often listed, too. The location of some homeplaces is quite specific. If you have a name you need looked up from that time period, let me know. Thanks for being the ROOTWALKER family. 1. [ROOTWALKER] Please let us know your counties.
    2. Hi folks, The ROOTWALKER site/list covers 26 counties, as most of you know. This is a vast area for research. In order to help others help you, please let us know what counties a particular person or family was known to live in , if you know them. We all realize though, that you may not have that information at this time. That bit of knowledge could narrow down the area of search by many miles. Thanks, Stan Magnesen ROOTWALKER site/list coordinator ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
