    3. Tamer Jones and Anna May Bryan Jones owned a farm in the Waverly area. I found them on the 1920 Humphreys County Census, Civil District 6 (old District 6) is what it says. The road looks like Mace Creek to Driven Pike Road. I am having trouble reading the roads even with a magnifying glass. According to the divorce records I have when my grandmother filed in Arizona, the farm was sold in 1921. I was hoping someone might have land records of the area and perhaps could find the farm listed. My mom was born in Putnam CO, TN in 1912 and I don't know when they moved to the Waverly area. Sorry I can't give more, I am still searching. Thanks Dee ----- Original Message ----- From: <Yelowstone@aol.com> To: <TN-ROOTWALKER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2001 9:11 AM Subject: [ROOTWALKER] Waverly, Humpreys CO, TN > Hello Dee, > > Would you share the names of your grandparents, especially surnames, please. > > I am asking this to try to locate an area they may have lived in by using the > surnames. > > Trace creek runs basically east-to-west across most of Humphreys County, > starting in the eastern part of the county just a couple of miles west of the > Dickson County line and running through Waverly to just north of New > Johnsonville, where it joins Kentucky Lake. > > Old Johnsonville is at the confluence of Trace Creek and the Tennessee River, > which is Kentucky Lake. > > Trace Creek Road runs from McEwen through Waverly to it's end about 1/2 mile > southwest of the community of Pursley. 2. Hello Bobbie, What census was the "RR" found in? As the railroad was being built some of the counties had a special Railroad census supplement tacked on to the end of the county census. These were people that were employed by the railroad in that area at census time. That may be what your "RR" stood for. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. 1. [ROOTWALKER] Waverly, Humpreys CO, TN
    2. Hello Dee, Would you share the names of your grandparents, especially surnames, please. I am asking this to try to locate an area they may have lived in by using the surnames. Trace creek runs basically east-to-west across most of Humphreys County, starting in the eastern part of the county just a couple of miles west of the Dickson County line and running through Waverly to just north of New Johnsonville, where it joins Kentucky Lake. Old Johnsonville is at the confluence of Trace Creek and the Tennessee River, which is Kentucky Lake. Trace Creek Road runs from McEwen through Waverly to it's end about 1/2 mile southwest of the community of Pursley. Most of this route is with US Hwy. 70 (Broadway of America). Also, could you tell us what community and/or district of Humphreys County your grandparents lived in? That will help narrow down the search, also. The (?) Pike Road you mention may have been renamed or totally abandoned in the 80+ years since the census you found your grandparents on. Can you make out any of the letters in the unidentifiable part of the name of the (?) Pike Road? Thanks, and thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. 3. I would also like some info about this area. In a census from there it merely said for area...RR. Would there have been a RR community there, and if so, would any kind of historical info be available about it? I am looking for info on Timothy Hogan and his wife, Mary. Bobbie in Memphis
