    3. In 1835 Seay and Shepard built a dam of wood to provide power to run the grist mill, saw mill and cotton mill at the Sycamore Mills in Cheatham County near Ashland City -- it was part of Montgomery County back then I suppose as Cheatham was formed until 1856. I have no idea who the Seay was. Rsp. Jim Allen Rene Seigh wrote: > Hi, Karen, > > We need to compare notes on the SEAY side. 1. [ROOTWALKER] Mary Ann Rives/Ryves/Reeves/Reavis m. John Wm. Randolph
    2. Jan Patton
    3. Looking for parents/sibs of Mary Ann Reavis(?) b. ca. 1802 NC; m. John William Randolph ca. 1818-1824 Tn. I have been told that their marriage date was 18 Mar 1818 in Maury Co., Tn. but can find no proof. Have heard that her father may have been C. A. Reavis, but Reavis list says no way. Mary Ann and John supposedly lived in Henry and Warren Cos., Tn. ; moved from Tn. to Pope Co., Il. in the mid 1840's. They had the following children: Nathaniel Eastely, Samuel Richard, Francis Marion, Frances Elizabeth, Rial Miller. Sophia Catherine, James M., Jasper Newton. If anyone can help with either Mary Ann or John William's family I'd be so grateful. They have both been a total brick wall. Jan

    1. [ROOTWALKER] Another Newbie
    2. Hello, I, also, just joined the list. My GGG grandparents were Robert William WILSON and Celina A. ROBINSON, reportedly born in NC in late 1790's or early 1800. According to family records, their son, Allen Green WILSON, was born in Smith County, TN in 1819;. I have found no records for them in Smith County. Allen Green Wilson married Elizabeth M. ASKINS, daughter of Presley ASKINS and Mary FINCH ASKINS, who lived in Smith County. I have not found any marriage records but assume that they married sometime around 1840-42. Any information greatly appreciated. Phyllis Wilson Carpenter

    1. [ROOTWALKER] Hunt, Allen, and Hurdle
    2. I have been at a brick wall with my 3rd great grandfather, John Hunt, for several years. He was born in 1798 in NC and went to Tennessee in his early childhood. Lived in Brush Creek area most of the years until he moved to Mo. in about 1845. He was married to Elizabeth unknown. First child born in 1820. There is some indication Elizabeth may have been an Allen. She was said to have been born in Va. John's father may have been Gersham or Thomas Hunt. There was a John Hunt who married in Va. to Elizabeth Hurdle, Jan 2, 1815. Can anyone tell me about this couple? Any clues to the parents of either of these would be most welcome. Patricia
