Hello everyone, I know there is at least one DEMONBREUN researcher in the ROOTWALKER family. There are probably several more people that can tie their lineage into this surname somewhere in time. For those of you that are researching this old and respected name as well as those of you that are interested in history and colorful people I thought I would mention an article that appeared in the Nashville Tennessean newspaper on Wednesday, August 7, 2002. This article is titled "Pioneer's home a historic hideaway" and is about Timothy Demonbreun and Demonbreun's Cave, which opens into a bluff overlooking the Cumberland River just a short distance by water from downtown Nashville. The original newspaper article has a photograph of the cave entrance and a sketch of Mr. Demonbreun, but these are not included in the website article. You can find this article at the following address: http://www.tennessean.com/learn-nashville/archives/02/08/20898585.shtml?Elemen t_ID=20898585 <A HREF="http://www.tennessean.com/learn-nashville/archives/02/08/20898585.shtml? Hello Dan, Have you looked on the ROOTWALKER website for information about the TRAMEL family? Vanessa has included a Bible transcription from DeKalb County, Tennessee on the website that, I believe, mentions one or more of the people you mention. You can get to the ROOTWALKER website by going to one of the following addresses: www.rootwalker.com www.rootwalker.net www.rootwalker.org http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnnmid/index.htm <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnnmid/index.htm">Rootwalker Genealogy Pages for Northern Middle TN--Main Page</A> Once you arrive on the ROOTWALKER home page, click on "Bible Records." Then click on the name of the family bible you want to view. We hope you find lots of new and helpful information in these records. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. Hello Barbara, We will see what we can find for you about Mr. Johnson HARVILL. I don't know what the chances are that we will find a grave that old are, though, as many gravesites were marked with only a rock or a tree seedling or even a wooden marker in days gone by. We will not only look in records for Hickman County, but will also look in the records for the surrounding counties for his grave. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. I looked in some very old tombstone records for DeKalb County but did not find any members of the STANFORD family mentioned in them.
