No, he married Ann Sophia Herring, daughter of Benjamin Herring II and Rachel Neville Whitfield. His full name was Henry Washington Davis. Shelley Davis Osborne
Who did Henry Marry? Could it be Gustavus Henry Davis? I know I have looked for him before but I can't remember if I looked for him under Gus? Debbie _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
I got that information from several places, but the only one I can recall off hand is from the "Civil War Service Records" database on Ancestry.com. The records are stated as being pulled from National Archives Record Group 109 microfilm series M253. The soldier is listed as H.W. Davis, alias Henry. I found elsewhere (and I think from you too?) that parts of the 50th, and I think Company E itself, were recruited in Montgomery County. That is where my Henry W. Davis was born and raised. A distant cousin in Adams, TN also found something on microfilm at the local library for this person, but it doesn't shed any light as to whether this person is my Henry, or really anything else abut him. The top of a few of these tall narrow documents say "Company Muster Roll". I'm not sure what the others are, but they are also tall narrow documents, like strips of paper. A lot of these documents fade to black at the top, like they were filmed badly, possibly out of a book? Any help is appreciated. Shelley Davis Osborne Proud To Be An American!

Hello Stan, How are things? There sure are a mess of BANDYs out there aren't there? I haven't even tackled Bandyville, yet. Makes me dizzy just to think about it. Prudy BANDY is related to My G'gmother Amanda "Janie" BANDY. And Prudy and a DALLAS. And my cousin Sam's first wife's present husband is Sam's mother's third cousin. So, needless to say , I did some investigating. So I have information on the DALLAS family. The info that this lady was seeking starts in Macon Co. I haven't figured out where the Bandyville BANDYs fit in yet. And while you are at it, Stan. Since my cousin Sam's ex-wife is my dad sister, what does that make her present husband to me since he is my aunt's third cousin? I'm so confused!!! wanda satterfield aka wanda sensing wanda satterfield [email protected] Coordinator Macon County TN GenExchange http://www.genexchange.org/county/cfm?state=tn&county=macon Coordinator Trousdale County GenExchange http://www.genexchange.org/county.cfm?state+tn&county=trousdale Researching: SATTERFIELD, BREWSTER, KNIGHT, MONTAGUE, DALLAS, WILLIS, WEST, McCLANAHAN, UHLES, LINVILLE, EDEN, FILSON, GREGORY, BANDY BLANKENSHIP
Hello Shelly, We searched through the records of the 50th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, Confederate States Army, and did not find anyone named Henry DAVIS or H. W. DAVIS in the records of that unit. If you can let me know the source of your information stating that he was in Company E of this unit I will go back to that record and see if I can find where that information came from. We did find some other information that you asked for and will post it as soon as it is typed. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America! Good morning everyone, Vanessa and I made a trip to TSLA this past week hoping to catch up on things we said we would look up for members of the ROOTWALKER family. We didn't catch up, but did a great deal of research on some of the questions posted to the ROOTWALKER mail list since our last visit to the archives. We will post the results of this research a few mails at a time. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. "America The Beautiful!" Stan Magnesen ROOTWALKER site/list coordinator
Hello Wanda, You probably know this already, but there are zillions of BANDY family members in Sumner County. There is even a community called "Bandyville" on Hwy. 109 at the top of the ridge going between Gallatin and Portland. A Hendersonville police officer named Richard BANDY was killed in a traffic accident in about 1978 or 1979, and I believe his family was from the Bandyville area. I had the pleasure of knowing this gentleman and he was a fine man and a good police officer. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. "Stars and Stripes Forever!"
