Stan, Looks like I should post on Robertson's list too, given the number of Qualls, etc. you listed. If you would be so kind, could you check on the birth/death dates, if they are available, for John H. Qualls in Robertson County. This line of research is giving me some very unwanted grey hairs! Jenny
Hello Jenny, I looked in the cemetery records we have on hand for Montgomery County, Tennessee, but did not find any members of the QUARLES, QUALLS, SHARRARD or SHERROD families in any cemetery we know of in that county. Because Robertson County is a neighbor of Montgomery and we do have a copy of the Robertson County, Tennessee, Cemetery Records in the ROOTWALKER library, I looked there, too. Here is what we found in Robertson County, Tennessee: QUALLS, Arch L. Birdie Dorothy H. Eddie E. Elizabeth Emerline P. Frances G. Infant Infant Son. Jesse E. John H. J. Collester Lawrence Lottie S. Myrtle B. Nannie A. Rebecca B. Richard E. R. E. Samuel R. W. Herbert Zula QUARLES, Katheryn Richard J. SHERROD, Augustus D. Bennie B. F. Charles J. D. C. M., Sr. Elizabeth Emma J. Evie Gary V. George E. Gillie R. Hubert F. James B. John H. Johnnie J. E. D. J. H. Kathleen H. Laura W. Leonidas Margaret K. Mary H. Monroe H. Mrs. P. T. Myrtle A. Parilee L. Richard F. Robert E. Robert H. Rufus R. R. H. Senora F. Susie S. Elvis William D. Willis R. W. Roger W. W. If any of these names sound familiar to you, please let me know and I will look up their birth and death dates for you. Hello everyone, Ancestry.com has made available at no cost a map of the New England region of North America, circa 1607 - 1760. This map shows the colonies of England as well as part of the Dutch colonies of that time. It also shows the area to the North that we know as Canada and refers to it as "New France." If you are interested in seeing this map you can find it at the following address: http://www.ancestry.com/search/locality/mapview.asp?imageID=383&msp=&vw=770&vh =492 <A HREF="http://www.ancestry.com/search/locality/mapview.asp?imageID=383&msp=&vw= 770&vh=492">Ancestry.com - Maps</A> Please note that the address may continue onto a second line. If you maximize your email to it's full size the address should appear all on one line. We hope you enjoy this map. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America! Hello everyone, In posting the URL for the American Revolution, 1777 map, the address wrapped around to the next line and I somehow got a space between the main part of the address and the last two characters of it. When an address is longer than one line you can usually maximize your email page and the address will appear all on the same line. This didn't happen because of the space in the address I mentioned above. Here is the address again without the space. Please remember to not omit the last two characters which should be "69": http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/reference/maps/freeimages.asp?ImageID=5 69 <A HREF="http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/reference/maps/freeimages.asp?Ima geID=569">Ancestry.com - Maps</A> Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. Hello Maggie, I'll be glad to search for these records for you. I put your email in our Archives Folder to remind me to find these records during one of our future trips to TSLA. Hello Judy, I saw that the address for this map extended on onto the next line. This has happened before and I didn't think any more about it. Usually when this happens maximize your email page and the address will appear all on one line, unless I somehow get a space between the lines as I did this time. Thanks for brining this to my attention. I'll try to remember to mention this when we post long addresses on the ROOTWALKER mail list in the future. I don't know the program that ancestry.com uses for their maps but I, too, think they're pretty neat and would like to be able to use a program like that on some items I have. Hi folks. This line has been a real challenge for me. With this new clue, I'm hoping someone will help me put a few chinks in my stone wall. SARAH E. SHERROD, often spelled SHERRARD, married C.L. QUARLES or QUALLS, on May 5, 1852 in Montgomery County, TN. I believe this Sarah is the daughter of SAMUEL SHERROD & PIETY HORN of Todd County, KY. What I need to find are the children of SARAH & C.L, hopefully on the 1860 Montgomery County census, provided they were still there. C.L. might also be known as JOHN. Are we confused yet?? It's a complicated story, but I believe C.L./John & Sarah are my great-great-great grandparents. I have ancestry.com, but my dsl in down so trying to read census records on dial up is very frustrating and slow. Sure hope these folks ring a bell with someone. Any information would be deeply appreciated. This is also posted on the Montgomery list site. Jenny in Texas [email protected]
Hi Stan, I would very much appreciate it if you could look for the Conferderate States Army record for the PHIPPS'. Thank you for your help. Maggie Phipps
Thanks Stan... You're going to get lots of folks writing you back because they don't realize that the URL didn't all show up on a single line. I'd like to know how they did that map so you can zoom in like that. I've got a set of maps that are too large for a single file and I'd like to put them up with that sort of zoom in quality.
