    2. Hi Martin - Thanks for the additional information on Epps Jackson. I knew there was a connection with the Eleazers but I was not sure what it was. I know there are Eleazers buried at the Jackson Cemetery. Wonder why Sarah Martha Bibb is not buried there as well?....Probably because her first husband was buried in the Stuart Cemetery. Anyway, thanks a lot. 1. Re: [ROOTWALKER] Jackson - Reply to Virginia.
    2. Hi Virginia - I don't know how much I can help you on Epps Jackson, but I do have a little. His first wife and the mother of all (as far as I know) was named Elizabeth. At the moment I don't know her maiden name. I will check other records to see if I have more on this. One son of Epps and Elizabeth Jackson was William (Bill) Jackson. He was born June 13, 1825 and died April 8, 1913. He married Ann Henry Rogers. She was a daughter of William Rogers and his wife, Elizabeth Teas of Humphreys County. I descend from Elizabeth Teas' brother, James Craig Teas. They were children of James Teas and his wife, Anna Gilmore, both originally from Dickson County. Ann Rogers Jackson is buried in the Hobbs cemetery near the forks of Duck and Buffalo rivers near where they lived in Humphreys County. After her death, Bill Jackson moved back to Dickson County and is buried in the Jackson (I guess that is the name) cemetery in Montgomery Bell State Park. As far as I know, Bill and Ann Jackson had only one child, Mary Elizabeth Jackson who married John Wiley Legate. A descendant of this marriage lives in Texas and has done quite a bit of research. I will look through my notes to see what else I have on Epps Jackson and. if you are interested, I will put you in contact with "our" cousin in Texas. 1. [ROOTWALKER] Elizabeth Jackson
    2. Hello, number one thank you for writing me back..........My ancestor Elizabeth Jackson was born in Amelia, Virginia in 1785 and we are to believe she lived an extremely long life, dying in 1893 in Chambers County, Texas. Even if that is wrong and she died 10 years younger that still made her one long living lady. I'm sure she probably died in Double Bayou, Texas. This info is from my cousin from his grandmother's old paper work. All of our information comes from old family papers, collected through the years and it is this relative that I work for at the Wallisville Heritage Park Museum, Wallisville, Texas. She married Garner Mayes, his birth is 1774 in Amelia, Virginia, and they were married in Knoxville, Tennessee June 6, 1808. As you can see, we have quite a bit of info, but it is so hard to go back and be absolutely positive on the exact group they came out of. These are such old families and I know when I find a Jackson or a Mayes family in Amelia, Virginia that it makes sense that they are related and especially when the names are the same, but isn't it a hair-puller to put the exact pieces in the right spot. When Elizabeth and Garner got married they lived in Williamson Co., Franklin, Tennessee and moved to Texas somewhere around 1838..We have land grants dated 1839 in Texas, but supposedly you had to be in Texas 3 years before to date......Also Garner had land in Travis Co., Austin, Texas before this other land in Chambers County, Texas. Well, sorry to bend your ear so long, but I appreciate your help. Thank you Virginia

    1. [ROOTWALKER] HENDERSON, MEARS - Woodbury Baptist Church.
    2. Good morning Jennifer, Here is the information about the three people you inquired about. This comes from the "Woodbury Baptist Church Records, 1888 - 1906" book. ~~~~~~~~~~ HENDERSON, T. Y., (Elder): ** There is a discrepancy between the index of this book and the text of this book. The index shows Elder T. Y. HENDERSON, but the text says the following: "At a meeting held at Woodbury, Cannon County Tennessee by Elder J.M. D. CATES and Elder T. H. HENDERSON on Saturday Oct. 19th, 1844, the Woodbury Baptist Church was organized." ~~~~~~~~~~ MEARS, Sallie: ***There are several entries for Sallie MEARS, some are shown as Sallie, some are shown as Mrs. Sallie MEARS and some are shown as Sallie E. MEARS. The name of Sallie MEARS appears on the following lists of members of the Woodbury Baptist Church: Jan. 1, 1888 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1889 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1890 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1891 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1892 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1893 as Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1894 as Sallie MEARS There is no copy of the 1895 list of members in this book. Jan. 1, 1896 as Sallie MEARS There is no copy of the 1897 list of members in this book. Jan. 1, 1898 as Sallie MEARS Jan. 1, 1899 as Sallie E. MEARS There is no copy of the 1900 list of members in this book. Jan. 1, 1901 as Sallie E. MEARS The name of Sallie MEARS appears on the following lists of donors to the Church: Jan. 26, 1889 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS in the amount of $2.00 Jan. 11, 1890 for the year of 1889 as Mrs. Sallie MEARS in the amount of $3.00 Sept. 1, 1894 as Sallie MEARS in the amount of $1.00 Jan. 21, 1899 as Sallie MEARS in the amount of $1.00 ~~~~~~~~~~ MEARS, Sarah: This is interesting to note - These membership lists are in the same order throughout this book with the longest serving members at the top of the list and then the newer members added to the bottom of it. Sallie MEARS appeared between a member of the STEWART family and a member of the KITTRELL family from 1888 through the member lists shown above. The name of Sarah MEARS appears in place of the name of Sallie MEARS, beginning with the membership list of Jan. 1, 1902. The name of Sarah E. MEARS appears on a member list of the Woodbury Baptist Church for the following years: Jan. 1, 1902 as Sarah E. MEARS Jan. 1, 1903 as Sarah E. MEARS Jan. 1, 1904 as Sarah E. MEARS. ****NOTATION**** A notation is made at this point stating that Sarah E. MEARS died on May 27, 1904. ~~~~~~~~~~ We hope this information is new and helpful to you, as well as a little exciting, also! Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America! 1. [ROOTWALKER] Woodbury Baptist Church - DAVENPORT, HENDERSON
    2. Good morning Jennifer, Here is the information from the "Woodbury Baptist Church Records, 1888 - 1906" book about these three members of the DAVENPORT and HENDERSON families. ~~~~~~~~~~ DAVENPORT, Henry, is shown in two entries. A summary of those entries is shown below; "The name of Henry DAVENPORT is shown on a record of people baptized on September 1, 1904." "On Saturday, October 1, 1904, On motion & second, Brother Henry DAVENPORT was excluded from the church for public drunkenness" ( He wasn't alone for another man was excluded for the same reason.) ~~~~~~~~~~ DAVENPORT, R. H., was on a list of visitors to the Woodbury Baptist Church on Saturday, June 32, 1888, during the "Union Meeting." DAVENPORT, R. H., Elder, "Brother R. H. DAVENPORT and his wife, Mrs. Rose DAVENPORT, were received into the church." ~~~~~~~~~~ HENDERSON, J. T., " The amount of $21.00 was paid to J. T. HENDERSON Iron Co. for a bill due them." ~~~~~~~~~~ This is all that I find about these people in the "Woodbury Baptist Church Records, 1888 - 1906" book. I hope this information is new and exciting, even if part of it may be a bit surprising! I'll get to the rest of your mails tomorrow. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
