Susie Gentry, on file at the Tennessee State Archives is a letter written in 1909 concerning William Elzey. Mrs. M. C. Sorrells of Petersburg, Tennessee wrote Miss. Gentry stating William Elzey, her grandfather, was a Revolutionary Soldier and pensioner. She stated that he died in Marshall County in the year 1852, aged 94 years. He was buried on his farm where he spent the last several years of his life. His grave is in the eastern part of Marshall County, Northeast of Petersburg, TN. His name should have been included on the bronze marker in Memorial Park. B >>
