Hi John: Your note regarding the subject family contained slightly different data that what I have collected from a Lincoln Co. TN researcher named Male Abbott Tucker of Fayetteville, TN, regarding Thomas H. Glidewell, Sr. (b. Abt 1789 in VA & d. in 1861 in MO) and his wife Susan Allen (b. 10 Mar 1785 in RI). They were apparently married in 1834 in Prudence Island, Newport, RI. Below is a copy of what I recorded in my notes regarding the source of my information. ----------------------------------------------------Extracted from Notes------------------------ Birth & Death: Data provided by Mabel Abbott Tucker of Fayetteville, TN. 10 Feb. 1990. Note: Thomas is mentioned in a book titled: Biographical and Historical Memories of Pulaski, Jefferson, Lonoke, Faulkner, Grant, Saline, Perry, Garland and Hot Springs Counties, (of) Arkansas. Published by The Goodspeed Publishing Co., Chicago, Nashville and St. Louis. 1889. Note page 205... Photocopies of pages 205 and 206 were received from Ms. Lorene B. Wood, 170 Don Ray Way, Ooltewah, TN 37363, Sept. 1995. Note: According to the Goodspeed book referenced above, Thomas, Sr. and family moved to Lincoln Co. TN in 1823 from NC. He left there in 1857 and moved to Cape Girardeau, MO. He died there in 1861. His children are also listed in the referenced book. She was born about 1802 and married Elijah (Eli) Mitchell. One of their daughters from that marriage named Eliza Mitchell, later married my great-grandfather Andrew Jackson King. My Fosters came from the 96th district of SC. My Nichols supposedly came from Hertford, NC. My Bledsoes came from Wake county, NC. My Freemans came from Surrey, NC. My Roberts came from GA. Thomas and Susan Allen Glidewell were married in Wake County, NC, so I assume they came from there. John
