Cousins: The Moore County Heritage Book is in the process of being put together for publication. I have submitted an article to them about our Chestnut Ridge Cousin organization. I have also submitted an article about our pioneer Prosser Family. Moore County is a small county in area and population. Many of our Chestnut Ridge roots were from this county. It is not to late to submit family information to the committee for publication. They are needing to sell 350 books and at this time they have just around 125 to 130 odd book orders. If you can help these people out, please do so. We will be having our next cousins meeting there [Lynchburg / County Seat] June 11 & June 12. I am getting feedback from their local people that they are interested in our organization. We are still in the process of putting together our program for the meeting. At this time we have two committed speakers. Dr. Patricia West [one of our cousins] will be speaking to us. You may view her web site at: www.websitewiz.com. Among the surnames that she has ties to us are: KING, HARKINS, SORRELLS, SMITH, ROBERTS lines. We have also ask Mr. Russell O'Neal to speak to us. Mr. O'Neal was past president of the Lincoln County Genealogical Society and he has some knowledge of the settling of "The Ridge". We have also discussed putting together some type of individual family displays for each to visit. We urge your support and suggestions in our endeavors. Let us get excited about the June event. If I can get out of the house today I plan to go down to Lynchburg and do some scouting. Below is an announcement about the Moore County book. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jewel Casey" <jcasey@cafes.net> To: <TNLINCOL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2004 7:00 PM Subject: [LCT] Fw: [TNMoore] Welcome 2004! > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jewel Casey" <jcasey@cafes.net> > To: <Gammon7@aol.com> > Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2004 2:58 PM > Subject: Re: [TNMoore] Welcome 2004! > > > > Thanks for the reminder.
