    3. Below is the membership of the Turkey Creek Church that the Fosters/Armstongs belonged to. Nita Emberlin who is one of the people I work with found this and sent it to me. I was hoping to find my Thomas Armstrong and Mary Brown Armstong on the list but they must have be Presbyterian. From notes in this chapter, Arthur Williams accepted the call to preach here June 9, 1804, supposedly born in Guilford County, NC in 1773 when his parents moved to Abbeville, SC soon after the Revolution, ordained at Providence Church 1801. Chichester Matthews, clerk and writer of letters, was dismissed Aug. 8, 1789 to got to Kentucky with several others who received dismissory letters at the same time. David Green did not satisfy the critical taste of the Turkey Creek group and did not receive a recommendation, later he moved to the Popular Spring Church. Among the information. Nancy Hanks and husband Luke were received by letter Feb. 12, 1785, but on Aug. 8, 1787, Nancy was excluded for her disorderly walk, but Luke remained a member until his death June 1789.
