1961 may be Sherry's birth year, but definitely NOT the year of her marriage. Sherry is a SPRING CHICKEN ! Sorry I missed your anniversary, Sherry ! I've been a bad "girl" of late and have been working on my mother's maternal PENLEY line in Maine. 1961 was a GREAT and HORRIBLE year for me. First husband, David Durham SEDGWICK, from Montrose, NY and I were married 2 Sept 1961 in my home town, Boothbay Harbor, Lincoln Co, ME. BUT, on Oct 17th we learned Dave had acute leukemia and Dave died 9 January 1962 (just 4 days before my 20th birthday) at Duke Hospital, Durham, NC. We were students at Duke University. Dave and George (B FREEMAN, my late husband 1940-2000) were fraternity brothers at Duke. When George and I were married 13 June 1970 in Daytona Beach, FL, Dave's parents were the only ones who had been at my first wedding who were there. They drove all the way back down to FL from their summer home in Wilmington, NY (near Whiteface Mt and Lake Placid) to attend our wedding. Both of my parents had died in the interim (Mumma in 1964 and Daddy in 1968). And I am an only child as was George. Janice
