LeNeta, I know that some of the family trees at rootsweb say that Peter didn't die until 1887 but I question that date. I see no source for that info and I really don't think it's likely - Peter would have been close to age 90 by 1887 and I have looked for him in 1860,1870, and 1880 with no luck. The only remaining member of this family that I can find is Peter's son Pleasant. One of Peter's sons was John and there are a number of them about the right age. Too many to be for sure if it's the right one. There is one in Texas in 1870 that matches fairly closely. Also it appears that the son Payne served in the civil war and apparently made it through that period but I don't see him after 1850 either. I think I would confirm that 1887 death date before I pursued him further. leneta Ingalls wrote: > Hi Linda, > > I do have the P.M. Guin information. What I am seeking is Peter R. Guin/Guinn. In the 1850 Greene County census Peter is listed and I was trying to find him again in 1860 and 1870. It would still be in Greene or Washington County. Thanks. Hello, Your response to my inquiry regarding Peter R. Guinn is very interesting. The reason I am looking for information on Peter is I would like to know the names of his children born prior to 1830. Records show he married Lotty Lauderdale on 11/26/1828. Sites on the internet show they had 3 sons, all born after the 1830 census, John (b. 1833,), Pleasant (b. 1836) and Payne (b. 1839). The 1830 Green County census shows Peter Guinn with 1 male child 0 to under 5 years and 1 male child 5 to under 10. There is also 1 female child 0 to under 5. I have never seen the names of those other 3 children born prior to the 1830 census My gg grandfather is Patrick M. Guin/Guinn born on July 4, 1829 in Greene County, TN and I have never been able to find his parents. I'm wondering if the male child shown on the 1830 census that is under age 5 could be Patrick. I wonder if anybody can help. Thanks for the reply.
