I am researching for women with the maiden names of Anderson, Bird/Byrd, Boone & Floyd families 1750 thru 1900 TN. VA. NC. TN. & TX. My mother was a Coleman her Coleman family was in VA by 1770 and probably before. A daughter of David Coleman married a Southall before 1770 and one of their granddaughters Frances Southall married a Jesse Coleman 1805 Amelia CO VA. This couple moved to TN. A Jordan Coleman b. abt. 1770 VA married, Nancy Anderson b. abt. 1784 SC, Rutherford CO TN 1809. I am a descendent of Jordan and Nancy Anderson Coleman. A daughter of a Jesse and Frances Coleman married a Barnett, she sign over her inherence of land to her brother a JMH Coleman. I lost some information about their mother she remarried about the same time. This time span is when a lot of information and records were lost in several states. Some of this family moved to AR and KY after the Civil War. I hope some one can help. I am searching for information about the Coleman families in early TN. I have proven information back to 4 brothers and a cousin all born in TN, Jesse b. 1818, James H. b. 1820, Joshua C. b. 1823 and John b. 1825 and to their cousin JMH [Jesse] b. 1815 TN son of Jesse b. abt. 1780 VA and Frances Southall b. abt 1780 VA mar. 1805 VA.. A group of Coleman researchers think Jordan Coleman b. abt. 1770 VA and wife Nancy Anderson b. about 1784 SC are the parents of the four brothers and Jordan is a brother to Jesse b. abt 1780 VA. Proven information but the connections are not proven. Joshua's 1st wife was Sarah [Sally] Bird/Byrd b. 1826 according to their Bedford CO 1840 marriage certificate. She died 1850 after the census. Joshua then married Jane Floyd Bearden b. 1818. This all the information I have for my late mother's Coleman family. I have other information about Sarah Byrd or her family. I need information about early Coleman and Bird or Byrd families in TN.
