I see no record for a James M. Watson in that area. There is a Mathew Watson but he is from Rhode Island and is a banker. The only James Watson that seems to fit your data is James R. Watson (a farmer). He married Catherine Baldridge on 4/26/1825 in Davidson county. James R. and Catherine had a daughter born between 1825 and 1830. This daughter is not listed in the 1850 census. She would have been age 20 to 25 and probably married. Who did Harriet marry BTW? Maybe they are living near her father. Their other children according to the 1850 census are Henry (b.abt. 1830), Darsus (b. abt. 1833), James (b. abt. 1835), Margaret (b. abt. 1837), Mary (b. abt. 1839), Catherine (b. abt. 1841), Andrew (b. abt. Catherine's age. She is either listed out of order in the 1850 census or her age of 9 is really a 2 or maybe 9 months. I think she's really about 9 in 1850 because there is a daughter listed in 1860 that doesn't fit . Her name is Sarah and she's 16 in 1860.
