Thanks again Linda and 'wmconne', Radford by any other name is still a farmer and a Confederate soldier. Geeze! The fact that his name is different on each census helps clear some of the mystery. I looked through my stuff ...again, The M. C. I have must be Myles Columbus Lampley b.7/2/1869 d.3/31/1875 (I did not realize I had a death date until this afternoon). Henry Mack Lampley must have been called Homer by some of his family. Just a couple more questions... Would 'Mc' be a common abbreviation for Mack on a census? I have seen a couple more clues that F D might be Frank or Franklin in my research. If Frank D lives next door and is 21 logically this should be the 2nd son. But my hand written tree does not indicate if the child F D is a male or female. My 2nd cousin's work does not have F D has Frances B. (female) with the same birth date, which I could not find anything else supporting this and there is another child names Frances (which is possible but not likely) My cousin probably got that name from the 1860 census. Could a census taker get a child's name that wrong? Or should I start looking to see if there was a 13th child that died as a baby? -----Original Message----- From: Linda Farmer [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2005 12:40 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TN-CENSUS-LOOKUP] Radford Tucker Lampley 1880 Tennessee, Williamson Co., Dist. 1, ED# 228, HH# 255 Roll: T9_1285; Family History Film: 1255285; Page: 15B (All birthplaces TN, except as noted) Lampley, Rauford T., w, m, 46, married, farmer, TN NC SC ............., Parthena, w, f, 37, wife, married, keeping house, TN VA VA ............., James B., w, m, 18, son, single, on the farm ............., Collin L., w, m, 15, son, single, on the farm ............., Henry Mc, w, m, 7, son, single ............., Malinda P., w, f, 5, dau., single ............., Martha J., w, f, 3, dau., single ............., Leonard, w, m, 3 mos., Feb., son, single, ............., Nancy, w, f, 56, sister, single, house keeping, TN NC SC Living next door HH# 256 is: Lampley, Frank D., w, m, 21, married, farmer, TN TN TN ..............., Mary M., w, f, 23, wife, keeping house, TN TN TN 1870 Tennessee, Dickson Co., Dist. 3, White Bluff Post Office, HH# 14/14 (Roll: M593_1524 Page: 286) (All birthplaces TN) Lamply, Ranford, 38, m, w, farmer, $500, $800 ..........., Parthenia, 27, f, w, keeping house ..........., Wm A., 12, m, w, ..........., Frank D., 10, m, w ..........., James B., 8, m, w ..........., Collin T., 6, m, w ..........., Miles C., 1, m, w ..........., Nancy, 45, f, w, house keeper 1860 Tennessee, Dickson Co., Middle Division, Danielsville Post Office, HH# 498/498 (Roll: M653_1247 Page: 236) (All birthplaces TN) Lampley, Redford, 26, m, farmer, $300, $150 ............., Parthena, 19, f ............., W.
