    2. Bill, I forgot to say that Harriet was the third child of her parents according to her obit. I have no idea as to how many siblings she had. None of their names were listed on her obit. Marguerite

    1. Re: [TN-CENSUS-LOOKUP] Knox-Davidson Counties Tennessee esrly 1800s
    2. Hi Bill Thanks for the response. The James R Watson isn't my gggrandfather, unfortunately. Harriet married Edward Francis Irvine, a steam boat captain. They moved around a lot after they got married, following the rivers, going from Tennessee, to Texas and then to Louisiana where they lived out their lives. I haven't been able to find any marriage date information on Harriet and Capt Irvine either. I think Harriet may have had a brother, Hugh Watson but haven't been able to find anything on him to confirm that. She did have a Hugh Watson living with them on a later census record. There was also an Elizabeth Watson listed on that same census as a niece. I'm just stumped on finding anything on Jones (James) M Watson. Jones was his given name although he did go by James according to Harriet's obit. Harriet did name one of her sons Jones so I know that is correct. Her obit stated he went by the name of James and was a stock farmer. Her death certificate also listed her father as Jones M Watson but didn't give her mother's name so I assume her mother must have died when she was very small and her child giving the information on the death certificate didn't know his grandmother's name.. Thank you so much for all you do for those of us trying to locate our Tennessee ancestors. I appreciate it. Marguerite .

    3. There was another James Watson married in Davidson. He married Mary Making Payzer on 4/13/1820. There are only two James Watsons listed in Davidson Co in 1830. The James R. I already told you about and the other who has 3 children - 1 female 5 to 10, 1 female less than 5 and 1 male less than 5. In 1840 James R is the only one of the two listed in Davidson. There is a Jones Watson in neighboring Rutherford Co but he and his wife are not old enough to be the ones married in 1825 and they only have one child.
