Bill Yes John Gwynne, Snr died 3 October1906. Thomas (Emily's brother) died 19th Feb. 1908 in Iowa City and Catherine his wife died in 1903. Also have plenty of information on their children. Yes, Isabella married Richard Price and lived the rest of her life in Deer Park, Colorado. Nothing further has turned up on Emily Edith since the 1900 Iowa Census so no idea whether she married or when she died. Pam

Hi Bill Well she could be married I suppose. It was just that it was suggested that she had been picked up in Tennessee on the 1930 census. This seems to have been a red herring. If she was married I would assume that the marriage would have been in Iowa as that is where her father and two brothers were living. Thanks for your help though Pam

In 1910, her brother John is living with the children of her other brother Thomas. They are in Johnson Co, IA. Apparently both Thomas and his wife Catherine died between 1900 and 1910. Edith's sister Isabella is living in Colorado. Her father John probably died before 1910 as he was 69 in 1900. So I figured that if she was still single in 1910 she would have been with one of these families. That's not necessarily so of course but it seems likely that she was probably married by 1910. Bill Thanks for your reply regarding Edith Gwynne Utterbuck. At least I can put that to sleep. Emily Edith's mother died in Wales in 1881. Looking back at my original e-mail I see I stupidly put her birth at 1886 whereas it was 1876 - also been advised it was July 1875. I was told sometime ago that the Tennessee 1930 census through up an Emily Gwynne but have never had confirmation of this. Thanks for looking. Pam

I didn't see your original request but the Edith who married Hubert Utterback lived in Des Moines IA in 1910,1920 and 1930. Her mother Anna Rebecca Gwynne is living with Hubert and Edith in all three of those census records. This Edith was born in Iowa and her mother Anna in Illinois. Hubert and Edith had two daughters Esther and Gretchen. This Edith was born about 1881 and doesn't appear to be the same person as the Emily in the 1900 census that you mentioned. Your e-mail made me look at the query I put on the Tennessee mailing list and stupidly I see that I should have put that she was born 1876 not 1886. She was in Bear Creek, Poweshiek, Iowa on the 1900 census age 24 living with her father John Gwynne and brothers. I did pick up a marriage of an Edith Gwynne to a Hubert Utterbuck in Iowa in 1903 but can find nothing to say that this was her. Also someone in the Gwynne line mentioned that they thought it had come up she was on the 1930 Tennessee census but didn't note the particulars!!!
