Thanks bill, I'm sure they are related ,to my nances. Do you happen to know or have any idea what the middle int.B would stand for. I've a lot of those in the nance family, again thanks, clara
Thanks Bill, I thought that 'may "might have been my rutha mae, guess not,(she sure married young) clara
"B" could stand for a lot a names but I don't put much faith in the censustakers when it comes to middle initials. I find that they are wrong(or misleading) about as often as they are right. There's their quaint habit of sometimes using L for Elmer, Ella, etc. and similar initials for mispellings of other names. Then they might use the initial which spells the nickname like L for Lizzie (Elizabeth), D for Delia/Della (Cordelia/Adelia), B for Bob(Robert), D for Dick(Richard). I think a lot of people had three given names which they mixed and matched throughout their life and finally dropped one in their later years. It's a miracle that we can find as many as we do in the census records. clara stephens wrote: > Thanks bill, > I'm sure they are related ,to my nances. > Do you happen to know or have any idea what the middle int.B would stand > for. > I've a lot of those in the nance family, > again thanks, clara > > ============================== > Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the > areas they lived.
