Thanks Linda: This is what I know, Thomas D. Hickey born 1795 in Jefferson County, Tn, and died in 1856. His wife is Rachel Unknown last name. She was born about 1796 in Tn and died in 1861. They were buried in the Hickey Cemetery near Talbott, Tenn. (Hamblen County). Children were; Elizabeth (Betsy) born about 1811; Sarah (Sally) born about 1813; John Cannon born November 1817; Rachel born 1819; Nancy Jane born 1822; Mary (Polly) born 1825; Martha born: 1827; Benjamin F. born 1828; Margaret Adelene born 1829; and Thomas Montgomery born 1832. I'd really like to know Thomas middle name (D.) and what was Rachel's last name. Thanks for all the look ups. I really appreciate it. Thanks so much for the info! I've recently been able to access HQ using my library's site, and have found a lot of transcription flubs in other entries. And it seems that the census records I really need aren't available on HQ! So glad for volunteers like you! There are some differences in what I transcribed and what the index says. It's hard to say which is correct. Martha wife of David Laycock is shown as 20 in the index. Johnathan age 75 is shown as Timothay in the index William age 2, son of Thomas and Sally is shown as Wilson in the index. Here are the rest of the Laycock's in Jackson county in 1850: Martin Laycock 45 NC Esther 45 NC Mariah 22 NC William F. 20 NC Caroline 14 TN Thomas 12 TN Elizabeth 8 TN Dicy 4 TN also: Elender Laycock 75 NC living with Madder (34) & Lucinda (29) Shoat.
