    3. Mary, If you have some folks in Roane County or maybe in Knox county there are some genealogy articles you might want to get copies of about the Brashears of Roane county. You might get lucky and find some mention of Stephen Rice. The articles are in a genealogy newsletter type publication probably by the Roane Co Historical or Genealogy society. It's called Roane Ramblings. The articles on the Brashears are in: Winter 1997 Vol 13 issue #4 Fall 1997 Vol 13 issue #3 Summer 1997 Vol 13, issue #2 Fall 1970 Vol 11, issue #55 Bill Mc -----Original Message----- From: Mary <Dingus6@webtv.net> To: TN-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com <TN-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, September 01, 2006 10:40 AM Subject: Re: [TN-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1810 unknown County/ Stephen Rice --WebTV-Mail-15082-878 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Thank you Bill, You have given me a new route to search for my Stephen Rice born about 1815 in Tn. as being enumerated as being born here, except for N.C. once ( I believe it was the 1850 Anderson Co.,Tn. census?) as being born here... The name Phoebe is not usually associated with Polly. Robert Brashear married a Phoebe and had daughters named both Phoebe and Polly. Robert supposedly died in Roane county, TN so that seems to be where to look. There are several TN marriages recorded for the Brashear's and Rice's in the early 1800's. One that might be pertinent are: Polly Rice to Zaza Breashear 1808 Roane Robert had a brother Zaza born 1747. So if this is him he would be about 61. I guess there's a fair chance they could have had a daughter named Polly Brashear. Phebe Rice to James Davis Crow 1813 Roane Sally Brashear to John Rice 1819 Roane possibly Stephen's parents???
