They add an attribute to the additional "Shared" people to link them, and add the role for that shared person in the link. The principal on the other had is connected to the event via normal GEDCOM interconnect, and that doesn't have a natural spot to add the role. It could be added as a property to the event (like the shared individuals), but that is a unique path. -- Richard Damon

    3. Someone on the RootsMagic forum suggested adding a shared fact and selecting the same person with the role I want. The software does allow me to do this. One problem is that I now see the fact twice. Once as the principal and once as the role I selected. By clearing the sentence on the principal, I was able to get a narrative that included only the sentence linked to the role, but the timeline display and the individual summary still showed the fact twice. And,, of course, none of this came in on the import.
