    1. [TMG] Question regarding inputting sources
    2. Jean Suddarth
    3. I have a situation which occurs ever so often. I get all the information into the memo field, then when I go to put in the source, it freezes. So I have no choice but to get out of TMG and go back in. When I do, somehow the only thing I get is an abbreviated Witness in the information fields. So then I have to delete and start over. I try to remember to put the source in first because I don't have the problem when I do that but I almost always forget. When this happens I validate the file integrity and several other things and it works fine for a while, but it always happens again when I least expect it. I'm wondering if I'm hitting a wrong key or what. Anybody got any ideas? Jean

    3. I, too, experience that annoying glitch on the Witness screen. The freeze produces an abort message and none of the three offered choices allows me to proceed. (The message, which I don't remember exactly, has something to do w/subscripts, which I am not using). There must be user error here w/some keys I am pressing by mistake. It only happens when I am putting a persons' ID number in. Love having the board back, hearty thanks to the troubleshooters behind it! 3. File...Maintenance clears up many annoying issues. At least, that’s my experience. 3. Danielle, If you were not using TMG v9.05, I was going to recommend that you update. I have not encountered the problem you described, so I don't have any specific advice for you. I find that using the File > Maintenance > Optimize command solves problems that are caused by bad index entries, and that might apply here. Using VFI is a good idea, too. If you have done both of those, then I am not sure what else to suggest. Note that File > Maintenance > Optimize is more thorough at rebuilding the indexes than File > Maintenance > Reindex. Use Optimize. John
