Thanks for all the ideas.  I tried several of them, some I did not like, some did not give me the information I wanted.  I settled on a list of sources with columns of: Source #, Abbreviation, Subject - sorted by Abbreviation.  I have 511 sources for CA,   The obits leave an empty subject column and that seems to where many of the duplicates are. I can check them manually. This list is a godsend to get ideas of how to proceed next.Nancy
