I do the same as David Coats - citing them as a source. However, I often do another step where I add the person to TMG as normal, but then have a flag called 'Family History Source' which I change to 'Y' for them. The idea is that I can run a report for descendants of a particular person, then all people with 'Family History Source' = 'Y' to yield a list of people who are interested in this person.
