While trying to make a new project out the 874500 I want to keep in my project (I did take a backup before I started) ,I got this error message: OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from Panels: Maximum Panels Exceeded I can choose between "Cancel" ,"Ignore" and "Help"....what is wrong? (size probably) ,and what to do?.
Still sitting here with the error TMG gave me today: While trying to make a new project out the 874500 I want to keep in my project (I did take a backup before I started) ,I got this error message: OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from Panels: Maximum Panels Exceeded I can choose between "Cancel" ,"Ignore" and "Help"....what is wrong? (size probably) ,and what to do?. I still have this error up on my screen ,and have not done anything with it. Hopefully someone could direct me on what to choose and do?!. _______________________________________________ Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/tmg@rootsweb.com Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community
Erik, I didn't reply earlier because I don't have anything useful for you. Your project is very large, and I assume that it's larger than the projects of other list members. What method are you using to create a new project? (Please specify the exact commands you are using in TMG.) John
I have an AAS flag set to N or Y on all people in my project. I am going to delete all the ones with AAS=Y ,so therefore I was trying to make a project out of the AAS=N people that I will keep ,and after that delete the other project which the still have both the AAS Y and AAS N people. I was adviced to use the List of People and making a new project from there. What I did is this: List of People......filtered with AAS equals N End Then on secondary output suppressing output to printer and screen etc ,and checked the box for making a new project called Kladd2 Then started the report who resulted in the error I mentioned. -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: John Cardinal [mailto:jfcardinal@gmail.com] Sendt: 11. februar 2019 23:47 Til: TMG-L <tmg@rootsweb.com> Emne: [TMG] Re: Error message trying to make a new project Erik, I didn't reply earlier because I don't have anything useful for you. Had to quit TMG today ,and chose to cancel on that error message I got ,and got a new one which told something about the project. I had started writing it down here to say what it said ,but before I got that far ,I hit another button ,and then TMG seems have continued working on making the new project again.... -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: Erik Hov [mailto:gj_erov7@bbnett.no] Sendt: 12. februar 2019 00:14 Til: 'The Master Genealogist Rootsweb Email List' <tmg@rootsweb.com> Emne: [TMG] Re: Error message trying to make a new project I have an AAS flag set to N or Y on all people in my project. And after TMG had been working some time I was asked if wanted to back up etc as usual. I did that ,got some error message I didn`t write down. Then quit TMG ,restarted the "kladd" project ,and tried to access the new project "Kladd2" that I had tried to make from the List of People. First time ,I wasn`t able to access it ,but after reindexing ,I was able to take a look at Kladd2 project. I noticed right away that it was name trouble there. So now I have deleted the Kladd2 project ,and am now running maintenance (optimizing ,validating ,optimize) on the main "Kladd" project. That will finish tomorrow ,about 12 hours from now. My project might probably be too large to make a project from the List of People (?) ,but it may also be that the "Kladd" project needs optimizing etc before it can handle making that report making the new project.... -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: Erik Hov [mailto:gj_erov7@bbnett.no] Sendt: 12. februar 2019 04:46 Til: 'The Master Genealogist Rootsweb Email List' <tmg@rootsweb.com> Emne: SV: [TMG] Re: Error message trying to make a new project Had to quit TMG today ,and chose to cancel on that error message I got ,and got a new one which told something about the project. Almost ANYTIME that you have problem/errors from TMG is a good time to run the Maintenance functions.. And with as large a project as you have, it is recommended that you Optimize the project after every backup (and those should be often). When you delete a TMG record (person/Tag/Source/etc.) the record remains in the files (and can be recoved by experts with relative difficulty). Optimize reduces the size of your project files based on how many records have been deleted by actually removing the deleted records from the project. Lee
Since I wasn`t able to make a new project from the List of People ,I have now optimized and validating ,and TMG found no errors ,so I am now optimizing again ,and think I will retry making that new project..... -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: Lee Hoffman [mailto:azchief@bellsouth.net] Sendt: 12. februar 2019 17:39 Til: The Master Genealogist Rootsweb Email List <tmg@rootsweb.com> Emne: [TMG] Re: Error message trying to make a new project At 2/11/2019 23:32, Erik Hov wrote >My project might probably be too large to make a project from the List >of People >(?) ,but it may also be that the "Kladd" project needs optimizing etc >before it can handle making that report making the new project....
