Is there a report that can be run that shows the input history for a date range? Or something like that? I am hoping to be able to generate something after every input session so that in case of data loss, I can restore from backup and see what I might need to re-key. Thanks Robin in Short Pump
Robin Kaspar asked: > Is there a report that can be run that shows > the input history for a date range? Unfortunately not really, Robin. The only feature in TMG which shows some form of indication of change based on date is the "Last edited" field. Unfortunately, that field is only at the person level, and is updated upon ANY edit action for that person. Further there can be false positives because if you open a tag for edit and click "OK" instead of "Cancel" the date is updated even if you made no changes. > I am hoping to be able to generate something after every input session > so that in case of data loss, I can restore from backup and see what > I might need to re-key. I suggest instead, that you simply save a backup after every input session. As long as you do not lose those backups you should not have a problem. You did not ask, but the only way I know of to identify "what" has been changed between two TMG backups involves the "differences" feature of Word. Restore one backup and run a Journal report to Word whose Options includes absolutely everything. Now restore the other backup and run the exact same Word report. Then use the Word "differences" feature to highlight and show the differences between the two reports. Sorry there isn't a better answer, but the underlying Foxpro database system which TMG uses does not record changes. Michael
Thanks Michael, disappointing but understandable. Robin > On Feb 7, 2019, at 1:18 PM, Michael J.
