    3. Nancy asked: > I ... looked at one person in the two datasets in the > merge people form... Flip and Merge were grayed out. Taken from the NOTE at the bottom of the TMG HELP topic "Merge Two People - Split and Combined Displays": NOTE: You can only merge people who reside in the same data set, although you can compare people from different data sets. If the [Merge] button is grayed out, check to be sure the two people you are trying to merge are in the same data set. If not, you must move or copy one of them first -- or merge the two data sets. I suggest reviewing Terry's Tips about "Merging projects and datasets" here: http://tmg.reigelridge.com/merging.htm especially his topic on "Using Copy Persons" here: http://tmg.reigelridge.com/merging.htm#copy Michael

    3. I am assuming dataset 4 was merged with 3. When finished merging the datasets you should either delete dataset 4 or deactivate it by checking the deactivate box on the merging window before you close it. When you delete or deactivate a dataset after the merge then it will not show up in the index nor be considered when checking for duplicate people. Hope that made sense.
