    3. I'm interested to see the responses to this because I've had a much less serious version of the same problem. "Last" is also greyed out on my opening screen (Welcome window), so I just use "Select" and select my project. Then it opens and all is well except that I don't have access to the help files. I haven't seen the error message you show -- but that could be because I have made a selection instead of closing the Welcome window. Perhaps a comparison of what other things are going on with each of our computers would provide a clue that could help to keep this from happening. I've managed to avoid any serious problems in the over 15 years I've been using this great program. I went to fire up TMG this morning and got this. "Repair mode has been activated." I hit "OK" The TMG screen came up and it said it was loading, then I got this: the blue options screen which listed a bunch of options such as last, sample, select. etc. All choices are available except the "last" which is grayed out. I did not dare to hit any of the other choices not knowing what would happen so I just hit the "x" at the right top. Then I got this: The Master Genealogist (repair mode) message which stated: "An error happened when opening the data tables...File C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\THE MASTER GENEALOGIST V9\_ND.dbf not found." I hit OK and TMG is off my screen. What now? Bud Dorr
