    1. [TMG] TMG exhibits for Second Site. (Was bmp versus jpg)

    3. Thanks everyone for the excellent help with my jpg re bmp question. It is greatly appreciated. (Sorry about the delay in responding. Have been looking after 3 young grandchildren while their parents are overseas.) Here is my general plan now so would be glad to know if any of this is off-beam. Also have a few questions. 1. I have IrfanView already thanks to previous advice from Lee, and will download Paint.Net. Will also look at Picsizer thanks Betty. Will use these to format images for Second Site output. 2. Scan anything I have to scan as a TIF, using the suggested sizes in Ottawa TMG Group guides and info from Tom and others on this list. Thanks John and Denis for the advice re .bmps not being acceptable for websites/Second Site. Drama averted. 3. Save any JPG image as a TIF before editing it, edit, resave as a JPG. (I was already doing this most of the time but to date have just focussed on obtaining the best available image in whatever format I can - saving it in my TMG Exhibits folders - so haven't done a lot of editing.) 4. I have many subfolders in my TMG exhibits folder so I will create a separate Second Site folder/s? - for the exhibits for just the 6000 people I'm focussed on - and will then batch convert anything necessary to .jpgs. A couple of questions here: 1. Does the Second Site folder structure have to be exactly the same as the TMG folder structure, or could I use just one folder for all Second Site images? (It looks as though I could use just one folder.) 2. Most of my images in my TMG Exhibits folder and sub-folders are jpg, with quite a few PNGs and TIFS and not so many GIFs and BMPs. When I batch convert can I select the TIFs and BMPs out or must the conversion be for everything in a particular folder? Thanks once again to the list for the advice and help Ann
