My fault - I didn't know how to view filter status and thought that setting Preferences>Options>Tag Box>select Show Primary Events was all that was needed. Michael, thanks also to you. > find it easier to RIGHT click in the tag area and select the menu > choice of "Filter for ...". I had never before used this right-click menu. So I switched filters on and off a few times and checked each time for the red 'Filtered' label. This seems to have fixed the problem - thank you list members for your help. Loading TMG, the Tag Box shows 'Filtered' in red. On examining File>Preferences>Tag Box 'Show non-primary events' is not ticked. I then tick 'Show n.p. events', Apply>OK, then for the session 'Filtered' is not evident. On shutting down, then reloading TMG, 'Filtered' re-appears, and I have to repeat the above sequence to clear the problem.
