    3. Ines, As I read the description of the procedure you followed, I get the impression that you may have missed one step: selecting all the people in the Project Explorer, after the application of your Filter. When you first apply a filter only one person is marked as Selected, among the names which appear in the list in the PE; this would explain the result you describe. To select everyone: click on the first person, scroll to the bottom of the list and hold the Shift key while clicking on the last name in the list (the old Windows way of selecting multiple records). Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a direct "Select All" feature in TMG, at least not that I could find, in this context. Another way would be to right click on one of the names in the filtered PE and tell TMG to add all names to a Focus Group. You have mentioned 'focus group' but I'm not sure you're really using that term in the TMG technical sense. I have the feeling you may just be referring to the individuals selected by running your filter in the PE. Hope this helps, John Cordes ________________________________________ From: tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com <tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com> on behalf of Ines Mannhardt via <tmg@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 31, 2015 9:42 PM To: tmg@rootsweb.com Subject: [TMG] export of certain people Hello all, I want to export some people of one of my databases to a German website which needs to be done via Gedcom or type all 825 names. I fixed all the living flags to be either N or Y. - I used the project explorer to only pick the people who had the living flag set to N and named the filter, all the correct people showed up - Then I went to File, export, Gedcom, named the export file (Boyes not living) which is in TMG version 9\Export - in Step 3 of the export wizard DEFAULT is highlighted, I left it - in Step 4 I select the database, then "Selected people in the Project explorer", at the bottom of the window I get a message Selected 1 person. This is the only person that is exported. Even when I select all the people in my focus group, I only get one person in the Gedcom file. Somewhere along the way I am missing a step. Can somebody please point me in the right direction. I don't care if I have to export the people into a new data set and go from there. I tried that and did not get it working either. Thank you, Ines
