Tasks that are attached to person who are deleted should be deleted when the person is deleted. If Tasks are still present, the question is to whom/what are they attached. Keep in mind that Tasks may be attached to Persons, Events (Tags), Sources, and Repositories, or to nothing. These last are "General" Tasks that were never attached to any entity. First, I would suggest running the Maintenance Options -- Optimize, and Validate File Integrity. Then if you still have unwanted Tasks, they are either General Tasks and will have to be deleted individually, or they are Tasks attached to some entity (Person, Event, Source, or Repository) that still exists.
