    1. Re: [TMG] Transfer SS from Mac to Android Phone

    3. I figured out the following method which should work for other files as well. I'm posting it here in case someone might find it helpful: 1. Download and install Android File Transfer (free) from Google Play onto your Mac. 2. Connect android phone via usb cable to Mac. AFT must "see" your phone. You may have to connect a time or two. On my Mac, it shows up briefly as a CD. 3. Using Finder, you should see under Devices listed as Android File Transfer. 4. If you are installing to a secondary storage device (worth buying), you must highlight Card in order to see what's on your device. Go to Android/Data. 5. Drag your entire SS folder into an empty space under Data. It'll take a little while because of the usb transfer. 6. On your android phone, download and install ES File Explorer (free) from Google Play. 7. Open ES File Explorer. Click on extSdCard/Android/Data/:Your SS Folder's name" under which you will find a "site" folder. LongPress on the site folder, tap More brings up a menu. Then, tap Add to Desktop. This will place your shortcut in the first empty space on one of your Home Screen pages. It can be moved there, if you wish it elsewhere. Whereas there may be a way to rename the "site" folder to something more useful, my android os seems to prevent this unless ES File Explorer is "rooted" which is also impossible with my version of the os. Oh, well. It might be quicker if you have a card reading device, to employ that to move the SS folder directly from your Mac to the ssd card. However, our card reader has disappeared. Regards, Toby
