I use the 'candidate' tag.  I have some puzzles in early common name ancestors.  Most of the details are secondary evidence, or worse (SWAG) - so I use the parent or parents that seem to have the best information at the time, and use others as (potential) candidate parent/s.  They all hang around together until I get better information...if.     Having 'everyone' right there, when some new bit of information is found, referring to the chronology may better define which of the potential people could be eliminated.   JoAnn
