Sorry, Nick, you cannot do that in the Version 7.04 which you are using. Color coding of events was a major feature added in Version 8. However, there is a (very) kludgy way to "sort of" color code events in Version 7.04 by using the Accent feature to color code people's names. For events which have only one Principal you can assign P2 to a "dummy" person. That "person" can have a special Flag set to a given value which is causes their name to be a special color due to the Accent. Of course having a "dummy" second Principal means you would have to be sure the sentences did not include P2, and would cause problems with GEDCOM export of those tags. But it "can" be used for color coding. Hope this gives you ideas, Michael
Rereading your question, Nick, I now understand you are talking about the text in a "report" not the actual tag in the Details display. Terry's ideas will be useful for text coloring. But I agree with him that grouping the tags would be better. If your output is Second Site, you could use its Tag Grouping feature to separately group "work" tag types. Michael
