Yes, I'm aware of MAX_PATH=260 (I checked the exact figure before my original post). My Windows 7 folder path for the configuration files is "D:\Users\username\Documents\The Master Genealogist v9\Configuration_files\", which is the TMG default except for changing to the D: drive. That's only 75 characters; adding the problem file length of 56 upwards, plus one for the nul character at the end of every path (as per your reference), still gives only 132. Hence, I don't think that's the cause of the problem. -- Tony
