Good morning. Scotlands People are allowing free access to the indexes of the 1855 Valuation Rolls for a limited time, so I played there then spent a few credits for two records confirming plus more than I knew. Has anyone created special tags for these rolls or do they have a generic one for rates? I am off to figure out a tag called VR Roll. I would be interested in knowing how others have done this. Hope others have some success in this new resource. Kay
For Occupier-Tenant, I created a role in Residence. I'm at a different computer right now, but 1855 was in the year. For Owner, I already had a tag for owning property, so I used that and have not added a new role. However, I haven't yet bought any credits to unlock further exciting details, so my investigation and tags could be considered preliminary. Thanks Karla, for your input. I have made an interim tag & source so at least it is recorded. This is what I created, a very simple lumper for use with other years in the address tag group. [P] <was|and [PO] were>listed <on the [D]> Valuation Roll <at [L]>. <[M]> My sentence reading. Robert Wilkie was listed on the 1855 Valuation Roll at 258 Argyle Street, Glasgow, LKS, Scotland. He tenanted and occupied a shop owned by Alexander Broom's Trustees per D. (David) Keltie of 43 Maitland Street. The umbrella shop incurred a yearly rent and value of 38/-. As I only have two items so far, this will do the trick ATM. Kay
