I feel it would be worth adding that the exact length that causes the problem may depend on the *folder* path length for the report configuration files as well. Unless you've tested to the contrary, a path like "D:\TMG9\Configuration_files\" may give a very different result from my "D:\Users\username\Documents\The Master Genealogist v9\Configuration_files\" (my username being 8 characters). Your observation of problems at 60+ is already different from my tests giving problems at 56+.
