While there are likely to be only a few rare cases, I have also found identifying them to be instructive in my projects. > I also wanted to mention that my usual procedure for > adding a spouse to an individual who is already in my > database is to do an "Add wife", or "Add husband", as > appropriate. Yes, that will also work, as it obeys the concept I mentioned that "whenever you add a new Marriage tag, always link both Principals as part of the creation of that tag." Your procedure will ensure that, *if* you accept the prompt and add the new Marriage tag at that point. > I don't know off hand why I have a considerable number of > asymmetric marriage tags, but I did start with TMG 5 (or > maybe 4?) so there's been lots of scope for strange things > to happen! Well there are several rather common ways to link a new spouse to a Marriage group tag. Prior to Version 8.05 some of them did not set this tag as Primary for the newly assigned spouse, even if that new spouse had no other tags in the Marriage group. Thankfully as of Version 8.05 TMG catches "most" of these and marks the tag Primary for that spouse. Michael
