Note that Windows 7 *Professional Edition* is still being offered and thus does not yet have an expiration date for support. It costs more than the Home edition (which is no longer sold), but it would be the one to buy if you just don't want to change yet. (There are/were other editions; I don't know, other than the above, which are still being sold officially.)
