    3. Rick & Virginia, I read them, the grey cells went into panic, and most of it went over my head. Now some time later, tried again and found this under the help as suggested by Virginia, did not find it the first time round. I have employed this method, BUT what I did different to before was closing the main project before restoring the new one. I have checked that everything is correct, The only hiccup was when my main project was opened one of my accents whilst showing at the top of my list had turned itself from A to ?, thus only showing the female colour not the ancestor colour. Now fixed. _So now I __presume I should do the same for my main project??_ BUT would it hurt to live like that seeing that the SAMPLE has done so from day dot under project, but there is no folder under configerations and exhibits. The exhibit has the sample pictures as separate .jpgs. I created a folder in the File/Preferences/advanced/exhibits/sample, closed it down and then manually moved the .jpgs. Reopened sample and the pictures showed up. No hiccups so far. Kay, on a learning curve today. Hope my explanations makes sense. How to get your data into each custom User Data File folder 1. Create a new project in a custom User Data File folder; or, 2. Import a database to a custom User Data File folder; or, 3. Restore a v5/6 or a v9 project into a custom User Data File folder. If you use the Restore Wizard (the third suggestion above), you can transfer project files, accents, filters, external exhibits, configuration files, and timelines. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started. Restoring a TMG v5/6 project to a new custom User Data File folder 1. In TMG v9, start the Restore Wizard (File / Restore...) to restore your TMG v5/6 backup to the new custom User Data File folder. 2. Edit the project path to point to the new custom User Data File Projects folder (or to a subfolder in that folder). 3. Edit the exhibits path to point to the new custom User Data File Exhibits folder or to an existing exhibits folder (if the path is valid). 4. Edit the configuration files path to point to the new custom User Data File Configuration_files folder. 5. Edit the timelines path to point to the new custom User Data File Timelines folder. 6. Complete the restore of your project and (optionally) your external exhibits, configuration files and timelines. 7. After the Restore Wizard completes, open the Advanced tab (Preferences / Current Project Options) and change any paths pointing to the Program Default Paths to your new custom User Data File paths. 8. Once your data is located in the new custom User Data File folders and you have edited the Preferences paths, make a new TMG v9 backup. You only need to go through this procedure once per project. 9. When you restore this backup, the paths in the PJC file in the backup will be respected and your data will be restored to the current locations
